It’s been some time since we did a scotch, no? Here we have a whisky made remarkable by the fact that just about every whisky delivered with this kind of presentation should be unremarkable. And yet… here we are!

I’d argue it’s a great whisky, but Springbank 12 is a study in how great whiskies can sometimes be challenging or outright baffling if you don’t know what you’re getting into. I hope you decide to take the plunge!

Sometimes even a huge, faceless conglomerate can get something right. If you're fine with drinking the scotch equivalent of an Adele song, there's enough going on with the Glenfiddich 18 to warrant a look. Overall Rating: ★★☆
